Meet MISSIO: Hair Products with an Important Mission

MISSIO Hair products not only make your locks soft, manageable and beautiful, but these products also contribute to the fight against human trafficking. Based right here in our hometown of Wilmington, NC, husband and wife team Lorin and Kyle Van Zandt founded MISSIO with a three tiered approach: 1) to educate salons in victim identification 2) to mobilize stylists in beauty initiatives 3) to give to non-profit partners.

For three years the Van Zandts consulted with professional counselors, law enforcement officers, lawmakers, prosecutors, local and global non-profits, etc. to develop and hone in on the most effective way to combat this horrific reality that so many women and children must endure. They spent an additional year working with cosmetic chemists to create stylist-designed and salon-tested hair products.
